Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI)
K&N has the largest Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) system in the Northwest. Our 10' diameter is capable of impregnating motors up to 7 kV. We will protect your motor from the chemical exposure and harsh environments using state-of-the-art technology and superior VonRoll Permafil catalyzed epoxy resin. For smaller motors, we use our 5' diamter VPI tank to offer the same gap filling characteristics as the 10' tank.
VACUUM PRESSURE IMPREGNATION (VPI) UPGRADE
In 2013, K&N made a major commitment to the future and to customer quality with a major upgrade of our Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) systems.
- The 10' VPI tank had a complete redesign of the pressure vessel, transfer lines, valves, seals, chiller, and vacuum system.
- All new Von Roll 74035 single component epoxy resin, which will increase the dielectric rating, improve the mechanical bond, and enhance resistance to moisture and chemicals.
- Operator training, with certification requirements for all employees involved in the process.
